Tip of the Week
Make Drinking Eight Glasses of Water a Day a Habit That's Easy to Keep
Health experts tell us to drink lots of water but that's not always easy to do. We have lives that keep us busy and often out of range of a drinking fountain or cold water. Try putting eight-ounce bottles of water in your freezer. Don't fill to the top as you want to allow room for ice to thaw. Grab a frozen bottle of water as you leave your house in the morning and keep it in your car. When you get back to the car, chances are it will be nicely thawed and cold to drink. Another idea is to wrap it in a towel and carry it in your briefcase or handbag. Take it with you to the office or wherever you go. You can refill the bottles and always keep some frozen in your freezer, ready to go.

Question of the
Week
Question:
I am a 17 year old overweight student. I notice that I always feel fatigued even doing the lightest work. However, when I am exercising, I feel energized. Why is that? What is the relationship between fitness activity and getting energy? What are the sources of energy in the body?
Answer:
Exercising releases endorphins into the bloodstream. These impart a feeling of well being and high energy. Often called "runners' high," the elevated feeling is a direct result of aerobic activity that increases your heart rate within your target range. "Breaking the wall" is another description of that feeling that takes over when you push yourself beyond the fatigue level.
Sources of energy in the body are nutrients from good food, vitamins and minerals absorbed from a healthy diet. Exercise and healthy diet combine to provide energy.
